
Rev. Dr. Shane Hilliard

PASTORAL HISTORY
Dr. Hilliard is the esteemed pastor of the St. Luke Baptist Church, Harlem, NY. With the transition of his father in ministry, Dr. Hilliard was called to his home church where he was joyously and overwhelmingly voted in to serve as its fourth pastor.
Dr. Hilliard has picked up the mantel and already begun to continue the pastoral legacy of the St. Luke Baptist Church.
Dr. Hilliard also served as the revered pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Christ located in Brooklyn, NY. His pastoral tenure at Grace was six years, beginning on May 21, 2014, when the Grace Baptist Church of Christ called on him unanimously to be their pastor. Under his leadership, the church grew numerically and spiritually from his model of discipleship and community transformation.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Dr. Hilliard served as a residential manager working with the mental health population. He assisted in the overseeing of 63 clients that reside in intensive and supported housing. He worked with the mental health population for eleven years.
He is the First Vice Moderator of the New York Missionary Baptist Association (NYMBA). Dr. Hilliard was recently reappointed as catechist of the ordination council of United Missionary Baptist Association (UMBA). He served as an adjunct professor at Mercy College (formerly College of New Rochelle) and has taught the following courses: Five Lives that Changed the course of History, The Sociology of Religion, The Role of the Black Church in the Urban Community, and Introduction to World Religions.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND
He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and he is the youngest of four children.
He received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at St. Luke Baptist Church and was baptized on April 11, 2002. He received his call to preach the word of God in December of 2005 and on Christmas Day he delivered his initial message. He was
licensed, ordained, and mentored at St. Luke Baptist Church, Harlem NY, under the
leadership of his predecessor the late great Rev. Dr. J. G. McCann, Sr.
Dr. Hilliard graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Social Science in January 2008. He also graduated from New York Theological Seminary, New York, NY, on May 17, 2014 with a Master of Divinity Degree. He received his Doctorate Degree from Drew University on May 11, 2019.
Dr. Shane Hilliard is married to the lovely Vivian Hilliard who graduated from the College of New Rochelle with her bachelor’s degree, and Nyack College with a master’s degree in Social Work. They are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Latiesh and Sarai Hilliard.

Dr. Shane Hilliard loves the Lord wholeheartedly. His favorite scripture is Isaiah 40:8, "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever."
Rev. Dr. Shane Hilliard is a powerful and chosen vessel of God; one who is anointed and appointed to serve God’s people and uplift the kingdom of God “for such a time as this”. His anointed preaching presence allows him to reach the masses; from the very young to the seasoned saints of God. His prophetic ability is truly a God given gift.
